I have most certainly reached a higher level of consciousness. And it's only 10 o'clock.

Already this morning, high in the hills of Ubud, we have practised tai chi barefoot in the sculpture garden overlooking a tangled ravine. Breakfast was wholesome (if you don't count the mini-pastries) and accompanied by the singing of a hundred tiny birds.

I've chosen a "conscious living" experience during my stay at twin hotels in east Bali, which means a busy regimen of healthy living, relaxation and pampering.

The last of the oil dances over my forehead and the tingling sensation stops. The therapist breaks the spell by removing the eye pads, gently tugging on my hair and pressing her palms to my shoulders. The Shirodara treatment is over. I open my eyes to a green glow. In the open-bale hut, the air is full of the colour of the jungle.

I feel no shame in admitting that we spend the rest of the day lolling around the hotel. My mother and I are here to relax and Alila Ubud is the perfect place to do so.

The hotel was designed by Australian architect Kerry Hill, who draws no line between inside and out, nature and structure. The rooms, spa, restaurant and reception are open to the elements and the intelligent use of natural materials, such as stone and wood, fosters harmony.

It's the rainy season and the daily lunchtime downpour means rolling down the bamboo shutters at the cabana lounge. Over a beef and green-papaya salad, my conversation skills plummet. Instead I stare, slack-jawed and oily-haired, at the fat drops of rain dimpling the surface of the infinity pool above the Ayung River.

As the afternoon rolls on and the rain stops, grey monkeys appear, walking, playing and stealing any fruit foolishly left on balconies.

The next day, thoroughly refreshed, we are ready to venture beyond the rice paddies that line the hotel's private road, into Ubud, Bali's creative heart, for some shopping.

On the way we visit a local healer. Nyoman Damai and his wife live in a typical Balinese compound with living areas and a temple. We're delivered to the business end, an open consulting room surrounded by medicinal herbs and plants that flourish in the tropics.

The healer takes hold of one of my mother's feet and presses a blunt stick onto various pressure points. He rattles off a list of health complaints, including the stomach bug that has kept her up all night.

He's positively gentle with my mum compared with how he drives the stick, thumbs and elbows into pressure points on my feet, legs, hands and chest.

Clutching bags of capsules filled with herbs that Australian customs officers are going to love, my mother and I finish the consultation and giggle like schoolgirls all the way to Ubud. For the rest of the day, we're high and energised.

This is the perfect state to be in for our transfer to Alila Manggis, 40 kilometres away on the coast near the village of Candi Dasa. Alila Ubud is very much a retreat; its sister hotel at Manggis is more of a resort. Where Ubud is moody, introspective and green, Manggis is bright, beachy and the perfect place to "chillax" (chill out and relax). The next morning starts with moving meditation - a private yoga class held alongside a pretty temple at the water's edge.

Yoga teaches humility and this is exactly what I feel once I've left the confines of the hotel and am sitting with Pak Sugita, Alila's organic gardener, watching him prepare fresh coconut milk at his home. Continued…

Bali Rafting White Water Adventure

Bali White Water Rafting Package

Bahama Adventure Package

Ayung River Bali White Water Rafting

The Ayung river has been watering stability posses in the all weather as well as many rapids that the river categories from II to III. That was whittled down to a short list of 1500, and then the management took over a local university and put each hopeful through four interviews.

“We hired on attitude,” says Ruth Zukerman, Bali Conrad resort and spa’s director of public relations. “That’s the important thing.”

The fifth “interview” was with Conrad Bali general manager Michael Burchett, who shook their hand, gave them a contract and welcomed them to the family.

I can only imagine that scene five years ago, of course, but conjuring up that scene at the uni has echoes of American Idol, which most people in this part of Bali currently seem fanatical about. (While I was there, a dinner meeting was arranged for just after the TV show, so the locals could watch it.)

There are more than 600 staff at this luxury 298-room resort at Tanjung Benoa, a 20-minute drive from Denpasar airport, on the east coast of Nusa Dua, south Bali.

They ride their motorcycles to work in jackets specially issued for the purpose, with Conrad printed across the back. It’s our place.”

Balinese are welcoming people and loyal to their hotels and resorts. But here they seem particularly so, and this particular care is returned by both Mr Burchett, whose family home is in Lesmurdie, and Miss Zukerman.

“If they want to leave to go somewhere else, we talk to them about it,” Miss Zukerman says. “If they really think it’s not a good move for the employee, they might help them find something more suitable elsewhere.

“One of our young men left yesterday to go and work on a river cruise ship in Europe. He had tears in his eyes.”

He wanted to earn European money but she is sure it is not the right move for him and he won’t last, and it clearly troubles her.

There are 55 Conrad Suites and mine is nothing short of spectacular. Layout, styling, attention to detail, amenity and service are impeccable. Mr Burchett says the personal assistants have reinvented the luxury holiday experience: “No two guests are the same so no two holidays should be the same. Guests of the Conrad Suites enjoy the best accommodation in Bali while we plan the perfect Balinese experience for them.” That might include a helicopter flight over the rice terraces, a jungle trek in four-wheel-drives to the ultimate picnic spot, a cultural visit or, closer to home, a trip to Conrad Bali’s Jiwa Spa (my soul was soothed as I was rubbed in salt, wrapped in seaweed and massaged in oil). It might be Ashtanga yoga or the stretch class with a personal trainer at the Wellness Centre.

The 55 suites, with their exclusive pool and lounge, breakfast, afternoon tea and cocktails, are the latest addition to a stunning hotel, now of 360 luxurious guest rooms, set in 6.8ha of manicured tropical gardens and with 350m of beachfront.

What ties the place together, though, is its lagoons. They weave around the wings of the hotel, helping with its success in creating private spots and intimate nooks. There are 14 bales — big, four-posted, roofed day beds — some along the beachfront.

At night, the waterways, pools and grounds are lit like a fairytale.

Dining is exclusive in the Japanese fusion Rin, which is for guests of Conrad Suites, Balinese and Asian-inspired in the semi-alfresco Suku, chic and mostly grilled at Spice and loaded with seafood and overlooking the beach at Eight Degrees South —which is literally its position off the equator.

I sit out alone one evening listening to soft music, enjoying a warm breeze, eating a fetta tart served with slightly warmed slices of kiwi-fruit, that melts in my mouth. The staff seem at home — a waitress swings up behind a waiter folding serviettes and squeezes his waist, like a sister.

Conrad Bali feels like a community; then there’s Tanjung Benoa itself. People here say it is like living in a village. It is what Seminyak was before it got busy again.

Walk out on to quieter streets than in many parts of Bali and there are restaurants and eateries, art galleries and shopping.

And where does all that take us? If you looking for a place to rest and rejuvenate your mind, body and spirit, let Bali be your oasis.

Many of the two million tourists who come to Bali each year spend their time in Kuta, enjoying the world-class surf beach, bargain shopping and legendary nightlife. However, those who look further afield will discover a stunning array of idyllic destinations and more than enough variety to satisfy even the most jaded tastes.

To experience the pristine white sand of the southern coasts in style, come to Nusa Dua and enjoy the very best in Bali luxury resorts. Find your oasis resting beneath the palms, or perhaps with more active pursuits such as snorkelling, yoga or golf.

Lovers of fine art and culture should head to the mountain village of Ubud, nestled in the cool, green heart of Bali. In the 1930s Ubud was one of the most fashionable destinations for international artists and their work is now displayed alongside Balinese and Javanese pieces, both traditional and modern, in the hundreds of galleries dotted throughout the area. The Agung Rai Museum of Art is not to be missed with a remarkable collection, and performances of Balinese classical music and dance.

While in Ubud you can seek the source of Bali's magic in ancient temples and palaces, have a close encounter at the nearby Elephant Safari Park or Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary, or simply soak in the lush beauty of the surrounding tropical forests, emerald valleys and terraced paddy fields.

For an exclusive view of this breathtaking landscape, take a luxury tour by private helicopter. You can see much of this relatively small island by air, including the volcanic craters of Mt. Batur and Mt. Agung, and return to the dedicated landing pad just a few metres from one of the most opulent and elegant Bali luxury resorts, the Viceroy Bali.

The Viceroy Bali is located on the slopes of the Pentanu valley and offers guests exquisitely appointed private villas with individual swimming pools and expansive views of the dramatic river gorge below. You'll want for nothing in this spectacular retreat which incorporates the very finest holistic spa. Restore your spirit with a personalised program of relaxation, meditation and whole body wellness treatments.

Connoisseurs of find food will have difficulty choosing from the magnificent restaurants of Ubud ranging from French inspired cuisine at Viceroy Bali's own CasCades, to the modern fusion degustation served the renowned Mozaic, to local style 'warungs' featuring Indonesian and Balinese dishes.

However a brief dip into the intoxicating tastes of Bali is not enough for some. The answer is a specialty luxury tour to the Four Seasons Resort Cooking School in Jimbaran Bay. In this southern fishing cove you will have your pick of the freshest catch from the sea, the lushest produce from around the island and the most aromatic of Bali flavours including chilli, saffron, lemongrass and turmeric. Whether novice or experienced cook, you will master the secrets of Balinese and South East Asia cuisine and enjoy the fruits of your labour with a sumptuous feast.

Of course you will need appropriate pampering after your culinary efforts and the Four Seasons Resort spa will detoxify and energise with lavish array of health and beauty services including massage, body scrubs and wraps, and facials. At the end of a busy day you can retire to your elegant Balinese villa with separate sleeping, bathing and living pavilions and ocean views from your plunge pool.

Come to the Island of the Gods and discover your own private world of tranquillity and happiness with a Bali luxury holiday.

About the Author

Karen Cooke is a professional consultant with Travel Associates, an exclusive Australian travel agency catering to the premium travel market. Less frantic than Kuta, it is a wonderful place to simply grab a lounger, a good book and relax. It is safe to swim here, thanks to the hotel lifeguards.

Uluwatu Surfing Beach: This place used to be one of the exclusive playgrounds of surfers as access was along rough dirt tracks. The hike down to the beach also deterred many people. Tarred roads have now been built making it an easier access to the beach.

Bali is a volcanic island and as such has a selection of black sand beaches, most notably on the east coast, the north coast and the west coast. White sand beaches can be found on the Bukit Peninsula, Sanur, Nusa Lembongan and a few select places in East Bali, such as Padangbai and Candi Dasa.By no means have I covered all the beaches of Bali but the above are some of the more well known. Yet mythical India is a country with many faces and boutique hotels combined with relaxing spas are equally likely to feature in this multi-faceted destination.

The most defining experience in India is catching sunrise at the beautiful Taj Mahal. Be prepared to wake up early in order to visit this world wonder as crowds can gather quickly and sunrise is a very popular time. Pack yourself a traditional breakfast of chilled lassi, fresh fruit and fiery roti and enjoy it whilst overlooking the reflecting pool and listening to the call of the muezzin, as you wait for dawn to rise.

Ideally you should combine this destination with a tour around Delhi and Jaipur, which are the other two corners of India's Golden Triangle. The town of Agra is sadly devoid of any boutique hotels and therefore arranging a tailor-made holiday around this beautiful region is well worth the extra effort.

Bali

From perfectly manicured rice terraces to pounding surf, Bali is a destination that means something different to everyone. It is as popular with the upper classes seeking luxury ayurvedic spa holidays, as it is with backpackers looking for somewhere to get away from it all.

Spiritual tourism is very en vogue at the moment and Bali is the best place to experience this in luxurious surroundings. A defining experience is combining your luxury spa break with morning meditation lessons and arising from your slumber whilst it is still dark outside to practise chanting mantras and reciting the Ramayana with your spiritual guru. After all, the Balinese believe that your inward emotions play a large influence on your outward health, so it seems logical that meditation and spa breaks should go hand in hand.

The town of Ubud is a popular destination for spiritual retreats and sandy beaches. There are plenty of luxury hotels in this creative town, but staying at a smaller boutique hotel gives you a more personable feel for the island. The smaller Uma Hotel comes highly recommended. With only 29 suites, the boutique hotel doubles up as a holistic resort and here daily meditation lessons are combined with yoga classes and a private health spa.

Oman

For those that associate luxury holidays with getting away from everything, Oman is the perfect destination.

The country is one of the oldest civilisations in the Arabian Peninsula, and the perfect place to combine culture with relaxation on a luxury break. Relatively untouched by tourism, Oman has over 1,700 miles of rich, sandy beaches for you to explore, as well as the historically rich cities of Muscat and Nizwa.

A defining experience on your luxury break is visiting the Al Hoota caves, which are one of nature's grandest masterpieces. Past visitors have described walking inside them as 'like a living dream,' as rows of stalactites jostle with stalagmites and a natural walkway throws light around the cave like a fairy grotto. The caves get even more surreal when you realise that to first get to them, you must take an electric toy train. This looks somewhat out of place standing alongside the camels in the carpark.

About the Author

Darshi Chohan is a holiday expert for Tropical Locations, a specialist operator providing luxury holidays to the Far East, Indian Ocean, Arabia & India. It gives visitors a chance to enjoy pristine natural beauty while being enthralled by the amazing culture and colours of the region. Considered by the locals to be the Island of the Gods, Bali is filled with an immensely varied landscape. There are rugged coastlines and white sandy beaches, lush green hills and rocky mountains, along with rice terraces and volcanic hillsides. So, when in Bali, check out some of its countless Hindu temples, the most famous being Nine Directional Temples, such as Tanah Lot, Besakih, and Uluwatu. Also visit Garuda Wisnu Kencana, a statue of the God Vishnu riding the mythical Garuda bird. When you are done with sightseeing, and have enjoyed the beaches, then visit one of the hot springs, such as Air Panjar. Spas in Bali are numerous, with many traditional and international treatments available. Traditional Balinese massages are great value for money, and every tourist should try some, even if they are not the indulgent type. Apart from all this, you can go scuba diving, parasailing, and surfing, as well as enjoying a performance of Balinese dancing.

This is rather a special day, since it was a year ago today that we got engaged in Bali. Thinking back on my time in Bali brings back memories of one very special day of ultimate pampering and an incredibly romantic candlelit dinner.

A few days before he popped the question, John moved us from our beautiful accomodations at Biyukukung Resorts. We spent a week here and enjoyed being able to wake up and look out on the rice paddies and farmers tending the fields every morning.

I was perfectly content at Biyukukung, but my guy always has other tricks up his sleeve. He decided to move is to a private villa at Nefatari Exclusive Villas a week later. We were utterly captivated by the staff and old world charm of Nefatari. Our villa was tastefully decorated with traditional Balinese prints. We had our own private plunge pool and a huge outdoor bathroom and jacuzzi bath. We spent a lot of time at our villa and completely enjoyed the quiet and solitude it provided after leaving the busy beaches of Thailand.

John took every opportunity to create the perfect private moment in order to pop the question. After shipping me off to the spa for a whole day, he spent the day organizing an utterly unique dinner ensemble that took place in the courtyard of our private villa at Nefatari Villas.

The first rate staff of Nefatari created an enchanting atmosphere for us by placing our dinner table next to a softly splashing fish pond filled with floating candles. They hung lengths of white gauze and pinned orchids to it to create some privacy. Soft music played and the air was filled with the heady scent of crushed flowers. Then we were treated to a traditional Balinese meal. John asked me to marry him when we returned to our villa, and of course, the answer was yes.

Our favorite activity was sitting out on our front porch and watching the wildlife at our feet. We especially liked sitting through the early afternoon rainstorms to watch Ubud be reborn again. This rainstorm gathered within minutes of arrival. We were astonished to see the many forces of nature at work here. I was unaware that it rains almost every afternoon in Bali. Generally, rainshowers and storms are fast, furious and dissipate within an hour or two. It leaves me with the impression of Bali rising like a phoenix from ashes. The cleansing rain leaves everything sparkling like gold and silver.

Posted in Bali, Hotels, Travel | Tagged Accommodations, beach, Beauty, Indonesia, John, Photo Journal, Travel, Travel Journal, Traveling, Ubud, Villas

indahnesia.com - Bali - A heaven for artists from all over the ..

Far from the madding crowds, Ubud has long been a quiet haven for the arts. Set amidst emerald green rice paddies and steep ravines in the stunning central Balinese foothills, some 25 km north of Denpasar, the village was originally an important source of medicinal herbs and plants. "Ubud" in fact derives from the Balinese word for medicine - ubad. It was here that foreign artists such as Walter Spies settled during the 1920s and '30s, transforming the village into a flourishing center for the arts. Artists from all parts of Bali were invited to settle here by the local prince, Cokorda Gede Sukawati, and Ubud's palaces and temples are now adorned by the work of Bali's master artisans as a result. Unfortunately, the tourist boom has transformed Ubud into a bustling business center, complete with traffic jams and fast food outlets. According to an 8th century legend, a Javanese priest named Rsi Markendya came to Bali from Java and meditated in Campuan (Sangam in Sanskrit) at the confluence of two streams - an auspicious site for Hindus. He founded the Gunung Lebah Temple here, on a narrow platform above the valley floor, where pilgrims seeking peace came to be healed from their worldly cares. You can get there by following a small road to the Tjetjak Inn on the western outskirts of Ubud, then taking the path down toward the river. Important 19th century court In the late 19th century, Ubud became the seat of punggawa or feudal lords owing their allegiance to the raja of Gianyar. All were members of the satriya family of Sukawati and contributed greatly to the village's fame for the performing and plastic arts. The kingdom of Gianyar was established in the late 18th century and later became the most powerful of the southern states of Bali. And while elsewhere the Dutch conquest had such disastrous consequences for the Balinese royal houses, in Gianyar for the most part the raja and his subjects benefited from a Dutch administration that brought improved road irrigation networks, health care and school The period between 1908 and 1930 indeed, brought significant changes to the area, and toward the end of the 1930s Ubud was prospering as a budding tourist resort due to flowering of the arts here. In the late 19th century a certain Cokorda Sukawati established himself in Ubud and was instrumental in laying the foundations for the village's fame. The area was at this time bereft of remarkable cultural features. It was it, the interest of the Cokorda that various artists and literati sought refuge here from other kingdoms. Ubud slowly accumulated specialists and evolved into a cultural center with resident artists and lontar experts. A prime example is the case of the young I Gusti Nyoman Lempad who, with his father, a noted literati, sought and found refuge in Ubud from the king of Bedulu. In gratitude, the young apprentice sculptor helped to decorate the main Puri Saren palace in Ubud and carved statues and ornaments on the main temple (Pura Puseh) of the noble family, north of the palace. He also carved the temple of learning (Pura Saraswati). His work is still to be seen on location and some of his statues can be admired in Ubud's museum. At an advanced age he turned to pen and ink, working right up until his death in 1978 at the age of 116. A flowering of the arts The punggawa of Ubud between the World Wars, Cokorda Gede Raka Sukawati, was a member of the Dutch Colonial Government's Volksraad (People's Council) in Batavia and already interested in the "arts and crafts movement" spreading from Europe to Asia and Japan. He encouraged Walter Spies to settle in Ubud, thus provoking a growing tide of visitors to this enchanting village. At the turn of the century, painting in Bali was integrated in religious or adat ceremonies with the themes being taken from classical Balinese tales that were well-known from wayang performances. Inspired by the foreign artists who settled in Ubud, Cokorda Gede Raka Sukawati gradually changed this tradition. The unique m6lange of traditional Balinese and modern currents of western art forms that came to be associated with Ubud then took place. In the late 1920s and early 1930s Ubud became the focal point for foreign artists and other creative people gathering around Spies, a highly gifted and versatile German artist. A Painter and a musician by training, Spies heard of Bali on reading Jaap Kunst's Music of Bali, published in 1925, in which the Dutch musicologist praised neighboring Peliatan highly for its gamelan orchestra. His work and anecdotes on the island riveted the attention of Spies, who was then director of the sultan of Yogyakarta's European orchestra. Many other talented foreigners were attracted to Ubud also at this time. Among others, Miguel and Rosa Covarrubias popularized the hitherto little known beauty of Bali upon viewing Gregor Krause's magnificent photo album, published in 1925. Krause had worked as a doctor in Bali around 1912. After living in Ubud and Sanur, Covarrubias wrote his Island of Bali, one of the classics on Bali to this day. Rudolf Bonnet, the Dutch painter, was told of Bali's breathtaking beauty by the etcher and ethnographer Nieuwenkamp in Florence and came here to seek inspiration in the late 1920s. Colin McPhee came to join Spies' experiments and stocktaking of musical traditions, which were at this time very dynamic, with new creations springing up overnight. They worked together with the legendary Anak Agung Gede Mandera of Peliatan. McPhee later published a book on Bali's musical traditions as well as an account of his experiences here, A House in Bali. Ubud rapidly became the village "en vogue" for many of these visitors - an insider tip from the many musicians, painters, authors, anthropologists and avant-garde world travelers who passed this way, especially after Spies settled in Campuan next to Ubud, on what is now the site of the Hotel Tjampuhan. Spies and Bonnet both encouraged local Balinese artists, each in his own fashion. In 1936 they founded the Pita Maha, an artists' organization, together with Lempad, Sobrat and I Tegalan, among many other excellent Balinese artists. This association was to guarantee and promote the high artistic standards of its more than 100 members. Ubud since independence The Pita Maha movement did survive the vagaries of the Japanese occupation and the Indonesian struggle for Independence. However, Cokorda Gede Agung Sukawati, assisted by Bonnet, later founded the Palace of Arts Museum (Puri Lukisan Museum) in 1953 to provide a retrospective of local achievements. Balinese artists thus continued to work together, sparking a renewal of artistic activity in the 1950s. In the early 1950s, Dutch painter Arie Smit founded the Young Painters School of naive painting in Penestanan with Cakra. This style, free of any philosophical or abstract influence, led to relatively uninhibited young school children using bright chemical colors to produce two-dimensional landscapes depicting daily life. Their work reflects the changing vision and lifestyle of young Balinese during the post-war period. Han Snel was a young Dutch soldier who left the Dutch Colonial Army and 'vanished' into Bali after his military service. He then found his way up to the hills around Ubud. His work captured the imagination of both foreigners and Balinese alike with its invigorating synthesis of both cultures. Following his marriage to Siti, he built a studio in a secluded spot in Central Ubud. Antonio Blanco, another Western painter, settled with his Balinese wife and five children on the heights of Campuan, bordering Penestanan. This eccentric even had one of Ubud's first telephones, a link between paradise and the madding crowd's abroad. The tourist boom In the 1960s and 1970s the hotel and catering industry implanted itself here modestly enough compared to how it had taken firm control of Kuta-Legian, but this idyllic village did nevertheless witness an ever-accelerating flow of visitors who came to delight in the arts and to escape from the daily grind. In short, tourism knocked gently but insisting on Ubud's door. The advent of mass tourism in the 1980s has provided many young inhabitants of this village with stable employment rather than farming the fertile rice field in the surrounding hills. Land reform and hereditary laws, in any case, have led to scarcity of arable land. It is therefore with mixed feelings that the visitor will notice how "business-like" the Ubudians are, although their artistic talents are still being cultivated. But modern time brings progress which is not to be stopped in the name of nostalgia. The inhabitants of Ubud retain their individuality and generosity, of spirit through all the changes, which leave the visitor wondering how this charming people can manage to deal with the dizzying alterations in the village structure resulting from the modernization of social, economic, and perhaps occasionally spiritual facto This must be one of the world's most closely guarded secrets, or perhaps it is only that special peace of mind which comes from such a beautiful environment and a mild climate. The unruffled calmness of Ubud has soothed many a visitor, while the extraordinary beauty of the surroundings still inspire the creative to work. Nowadays you are also able to enjoy the fruits of that extraordinarily prolific period of pre-World War II Ubud in dance, music, painting and sculpture. Dance performances are given daily in at least three places including the main palace. In the meanwhile, ceremonies still abound where you can see various dance or shadow puppet performance or listen to excellent gamelan music. Pain and sculptors, writers and creative designers continue to seek abiding inspiration in the quiet stylishness of Ubud, Campuan and nearby Sayan. Gracious Ubud is certainly worth a visit.

Bali and Beyond

Vacation in Bali is a real journey to paradise. The flip side of the coin is that as they exist solely to cater for travellers, they're also rather anonymous (you might as well be at anywhere) and, aside from snorkelling and diving, there's little if anything to do. Note that there are no ATMs on the islands, so bring plenty of cash with you. From west to east, the islands are:
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 7.5pt 0.0001pt 43.5pt; His ministers and generals as well as Danavas urged unitedly, "O king, all the earthly kingdoms are now ours. Indra cannot hope to match your valor and strength. We must defeat the Devas and annex their kingdom of heaven to our empire. Brahma has granted you immortality and lordship. This is the time to get the full benefit of the boons you have secured from Brahma."

At an auspicious moment decided by Shukracharya, the Danava army got ready to invade heaven. The war trumpets and drums frightened Amaravati, Capital of Heaven. Indra met his foes boldly riding his white elephant Airavata, marching at the head of the united Deva army. Adityas, Varuna, Kubera, Yama and other Devas fought for many days against Bali and his army. But they began to flee from the battlefield one by one unable to face Bali. Having been wounded by Bali's arms, Indra ran for his life and sought the advice of Brihaspati, his preceptor. Brihaspati told Indra : "Devendra, it is futile to fight Bali. You cannot defeat him. Righteousness, truthfulness and justice have made him resplendent and invincible. Therefore it is better that you go underground for some time." Accordingly Indra and the other Devas left Heaven.

After establishing victory over Heaven, the Danavas installed Bali on the heavenly throne as Daityendra and celebrated the occasion as a coronation. Bali appointed his own men in place of the guardian angels of the eight directions, the Sun, the Moon and other positions to represent him in heaven, and returned to his capital on the earth.

The next day Shukracharya said to Bali : "O king of the Danavas, the Heaven also is yours now because of your twin virtues of charity and valor. Since the Under-world is also under your sway, the three worlds, the Earth, the Under-world and the Heaven are yours. But you have appointed Danavas in place of Devas. You have taken away their powers who enjoyed the power to rule over all these worlds which the Creator Brahma and Vishnu the Protector had given them. They may not take it lying low. They are sure to take revenge. If you desire to retain this overlordship of the three worlds permanently you should perform one hundred 'Ashwamedhas' (horse sacrifices). Get ready to perform them from today."

Bhrugukachha situated to the north of Narmada was selected as the site for the performance of the sacrifices. A large open area in the grounds of the hermitage was chosen as the place to keep the sacred fire burning. Bali took the vow of sacrifice along with hi queen Vindhyavali.

Bali - Jalan Jalan - Review - Bali- The Heaven of the world

balinese world is heaven, this might be expressed by the wish to fuse the film.
